TOKYO INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE COLLEGE IKEBUKURO

Experiential learning at Ikebukuro Bosaikan

Our school held experiential learning activities at Ikebukuro disaster prevention Museum (Ikebukuro bosaikan) on 3 days, from 8/23(Tuesday)~8/25(Thursday).

Through experiencing earthquakes, smoke, and firefighting, students learned what to prepare for and what should do in the event of a disaster. We were also able to learn about the history of disasters in Japan, and that was a meaningful time.

Here are some examples of student voice: “I learned important things for my living in Japan where there are many earthquakes!” or “I will make use of what I have learned today in the event of a disaster”.

It was a valuable experience for the students who have no experience with earthquakes or fires!
