On May 30th, on “Zero Garbage Day”, we participated in a local cleanup activity with the members of the Minamiotsuka 3-chome Toshima Ward Town Council.
We were divided into several groups and using tongs (garbage scissors) and garbage bags, cleaning the area around the school, the road that we used to go to and from school every day, and the location of the neighborhood association in cooperation with the members of the neighborhood association.
Participating students commented, “I think Japanese people value the environment and the environment in which they live. It was a great learning experience.”
Yasuyuki Tanabe, chairman of the town, also said, “Thank you for always participating in the neighborhood cleanup activities.
In an area with many elderly people, I am thrilled and helpful to be able to clean up with young foreigners.
We want to continue to cooperate.
Principal Ezaki always emphasizes the importance of friendly relations with neighbors and contributing to the community, saying, “A school is a place where there is a community. As a school, we should cherish and get along with our neighbors, and make a school that can contribute to the community.”
In December 2020, we received a letter of appreciation from Toshima Ward for our school’s local beautification activities.
