On May 30th, on "Zero Garbage Day", we participated in a local cleanup activity with the members of the Minamiotsuka  3-chome Toshima Ward Town Council.   We were divided into several groups and using tongs (garbage scissors) and garbage bags, cleaning the area around the school, the road that we used to go to and from school every day, and the location of the neighborhood association in cooperation with the members of the neighborhood association.   Participating students commented, "I think Japanese people value the environment and the environment in which they live. On May 26, Mr. Shozo Azuma the President of Chiba Institute of Science held a special lecture at our school.   Mr. Azuma, who has served at The office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and State Minister for Foreign Affairs, has visited and studied education systems around the world many times, and has accumulated rich experience in the field of education. We went hiking to Mount Takao, a famous mountain in Hachioji, Tokyo, on the beautiful day of May 12th, adorned with fresh greenery. Fortunately, the weather was favorable, and We enjoyed a lively hike under the invigorating clear sky.   The air was pristine and delicious, an experience We don't typically encounter daily. There were many other hikers that day, and as we passed, we exchanged greetings and climbed energetically. The beauty of nature is rarely experienced in the urban setting, making it a joyful day.

The country of vast grasslands and endless skies, Mongolia, holds a bright future! On April 4th, President Hayama of our institution, along with Tatsuya Fukumoto, President of the Yomiuri Shimbun Group, paid a courtesy visit and held a meeting with Ambassador BATJARGAL Dambadarjaa of the Mongolian Embassy in Japan. In the VIP room where the flags of Mongolia and Japan were displayed along with a portrait of the Mongolian hero Genghis Khan. The ambassador, who studied economics at Tokyo University and Waseda University, showed his fondness for Japan and spoke in friendly and fluent Japanese. On March 22nd, the Tokyo International Exchange School Ikebukuro Campus held its 5th Graduation Ceremony. The ceremony took place under the beautiful cherry blossom-filled sky of a pleasant spring day. Due to the prolonged entry restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony was limited in attendance, but the graduates attended the ceremony with confidence and joy, having overcome various difficulties during their studies. Our outstanding graduate, Mr. Yuewei Song, is currently a second-year student at Nihon University's Graduate School of Art. His works have been exhibited in museums many times and he has had great success in exhibitions, including being selected for the "Ueno Royal Museum Grand Prize Exhibition" consecutively. His works and his brilliant achievements reveal his enthusiasm and persistence for painting, as well as his outstanding talent for painting. 12/7 (Thursday) our school held a tour of Rikugien Garden which is famous for its beautiful autumn leaves while thorough taking measures prevent corona. We visited the traditional Japanese garden which was built in the Edo period, and we felt the Japanese “wabi” and “sabi”culture from there. We also had time to experience the four seasons of Japan and been touched by the beauty of autumn. It was a meaningful day to deepen our friendship as we can enjoy chatting with our friends and teachers while walking the park.
