The country of vast grasslands and endless skies, Mongolia, holds a bright future!
On April 4th, President Hayama of our institution, along with Tatsuya Fukumoto, President of the Yomiuri Shimbun Group, paid a courtesy visit and held a meeting with Ambassador BATJARGAL Dambadarjaa of the Mongolian Embassy in Japan.
In the VIP room where the flags of Mongolia and Japan were displayed along with a portrait of the Mongolian hero Genghis Khan.
The ambassador, who studied economics at Tokyo University and Waseda University, showed his fondness for Japan and spoke in friendly and fluent Japanese.
During the meeting, the ambassador talked about his efforts to promote sports, particularly sumo. He also expressed his sincere appreciation that many Mongolian students study at our institution and that the Yomiuri Shimbun Scholarship Foundation invites several dozen Mongolian students to Japan as scholarship recipients each year. There was an exchange of opinions about the current status and challenges of student acceptance. Ambassador expressed his hope and expectation for our institution’s Japanese language education, promising to spare no effort in facilitating smoother exchanges between young people in both countries. President Hayama also requested that the ambassador visit our institution to encourage Mongolian students, to which the ambassador nodded with a smile, and the meeting proceeded in a relaxed and friendly manner.
Also in attendance at the meeting were Principal Esaki, Secretary-General Yabe, and Second Secretary Enkhbat ENKHBAATAR of the Mongolian Embassy.
